"Great job! You put problems I have at work into a new perspective. I feel a lot more confident now!"

Communication

1. When someone says something to you in a sarcastic tone?

You could say:

That sounds sarcastic. Is there something we need to talk about directly?

2. When someone makes a comment or request that puts you on the spot?

You could say:

I'd like some time to think about that. Let's talk again on insert date/date range. (avoid using later)

3. When you want to ask an employee to do something?

You could say:

You're doing a great/good/fantastic job, and I'd like you to...

4. When you want to express yourself after listening to another person?

You could say:

I understand what you're saying, and I have some questions/concerns.

5. When someone interrupts you and you want to put them off temporarily?

You could say:

I'm in the middle of insert task. Let's set another time to talk when I can give you my attention.
